Jordan Travel Photography Tour: A Trip Down Memory Lane
Category: Travel Photography | Tour | Jordan
Join me on a photographic journey around my childhood home country of Jordan - the magical land that ignited my insatiable interest in the world and passion for photography!
On the bright side, while the pandemic has brought me heartache, it is also bringing some unexpected treasures my way, including this Jordan Photography Tour.
With many of my usual safari destinations out of the picture this year I’ve cast my photography net wider, and now have the chance to re-visit some destinations especially dear to me.
Jordan is amongst those I’m most excited about, as this magical land holds very personal and happy memories.
I lived in Jordan for a time as a child, and my recollections of being there are the happiest of my young life:
exploring the desert moonscapes of Wadi Rum
discovering the most stars I've ever seen in the clear desert skies
roaming wide-eyed through the dazzling souks of Amman
going on school trips to the immaculate Roman ruins of Jerash
floating around (with my poor little skinned knees smarting!) in the Dead Sea
discovering a whole new underwater world in the Red Sea reefs off Aquaba
These were dazzling, formative experiences for me...and they also make Jordan the perfect destination for a travel photography tour!
I certainly owe my love of travel to Jordan: its raw natural beauty, history, culture, architecture, and warm, welcoming people awoke my insatiable interest in the world.
I can’t wait to return this autumn, camera in hand, to experience this mystical desert nation once more, and make new memories with a lucky group of photographers
...I hope you'll be one of them!
Why Go?
Now is the prefect time to explore and photograph this spectacular country’s major sites.
Often attractions like Petra are overrun with tourists, but at the moment there are few other visitors to encroach on our photography and enjoyment of this world-famous icon.
Autumn is also the time when a huge range of migrating birds to flock to Jordan's well protected reserves.
Jordan is currently on the UK Government Amber list – this means there are no requirements to go into a quarantine hotel on your return.
Turn your trip into a mini beach or diving break too. With optional beach or diving extensions available in the Red Sea resort of Aquaba, you can add diving the reefs to the extraordinarily diverse experiences that Jordan offers, or simply soak up some sunshine!
