Mara Lion Masacre

Just to bring home how important lion conservation is, Niels Mogenson of the Mara Naboisho Lion Project presented his research and results.

The message is clear - if we don't act now to cut down the conflicts between people and lions there can only be one outcome - lions will be extinct within the next 20 years. This picture, taken by Niels and his team shows the horrific effects of poison on 1 lion. What it doesn't show is that when 1 lion is poisoned the whole pride is wiped out along with it. This is what happened to Nashipai, the lioness that featured in my video, and all her 3 cubs, and the rest of the Eniskoola pride. You can se the video here
